I'm sorry, but KWin is not the component at fault here. It is not responsible for the drawing in a window, it only sees the complete rendering result of the complete window. My suggestion would be to try the proprietary NVIDIA driver. |
Created attachment 103474 [details] Showing missing letters in Gnome windows (emacs and gnome-calculator) while KDE windows (kcalc and okular) work. Kubuntu 16.04 with kwin-x11 4:5.5.5-0ubuntu1, using nouveau drivers. Some times (usually after some uptime) windows of Gnome programs will loose most of the characters, with only some visible. See attached screen shot. I don't know where to start trouble shooting.
