I can't reproduce this. I renamed a file to "This is a testof a hugely long file name that is probably going to be truncated according to the reporter.jpg" and it's not truncated in the tooltip. Can you add a screenshot? Created attachment 103455 [details]

well, _your_ exmaple has spaces, whereas my file names usually don't. a file name abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789.txt is truncated. see attched screenshot Created attachment 103468 [details]

Summary: Means long main texts don't get truncated. One of the main uses for tooltips is to show full text for things that are truncated in the usual UI, so this is a bad default.
