KDE Plasma Version: 5.8.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.28.0 Qt Version: 5.6.1 Kernel Version: 4.4.0-57-generic OS Type: 64-bit That valgrind log is not very helpful. Can you try again running dolphin in gdb? Then type CTRL+C as soon as Dolphin freezes, and type 'bt' to get the backtrace. Created attachment 103343 [details] attachment-32102-0.html I tried gdb and then bt, but dolphin seems to totally freeze system. Tried ssh from another system, but ssh session seems to freeze. Wrote logger script to keep syslog active with just a "test" message, but it stops when system freeze (powered off system at "Jan 11 08:55" and restarted): Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus wpa_supplicant[1228]: wlo1: CTRL-EVENT-REGDOM-CHANGE init=CORE type=WORLD Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457952] cfg80211: World regulatory domain updated: Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457957] cfg80211: DFS Master region: unset Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457959] cfg80211: (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp), (dfs_cac_time) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457962] cfg80211: (2402000 KHz - 2472000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457965] cfg80211: (2457000 KHz - 2482000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457966] cfg80211: (2474000 KHz - 2494000 KHz @ 20000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457969] cfg80211: (5170000 KHz - 5250000 KHz @ 80000 KHz, 160000 KHz AUTO), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457972] cfg80211: (5250000 KHz - 5330000 KHz @ 80000 KHz, 160000 KHz AUTO), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (0 s) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457974] cfg80211: (5490000 KHz - 5730000 KHz @ 160000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (0 s) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457976] cfg80211: (5735000 KHz - 5835000 KHz @ 80000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus kernel: [ 389.457978] cfg80211: (57240000 KHz - 63720000 KHz @ 2160000 KHz), (N/A, 0 mBm), (N/A) Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus dbus[1052]: [system] Activating via systemd: service name='org.freedesktop.nm_dispatcher' unit='dbus-org.freedesktop.nm-dispatcher.service' Jan 11 08:37:43 Venus #####: test Jan 11 08:37:53 Venus #####: test Jan 11 08:55:46 Venus rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="8.16.0" x-pid="990" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] start Jan 11 08:55:46 Venus rsyslogd-2222: command 'KLogPermitNonKernelFacility' is currently not permitted - did you already set it via a RainerScript command (v6+ config)? Can you try again running dolphin in gdb? Then type CTRL+C as soon as Dolphin freezes, and type 'bt' to get the backtrace. Without a backtrace there is very little we can do. Any chance you have an sshfs mount? I have seen that freeze Dolphin and possibly the whole plasmashell. Created attachment 103365 [details] attachment-26835-0.html I will try to run backtrace periodically. I'm currently using konqueror, until dolphin works again. But for now, there is no point to leave bug open. As for the sshfs - I have none at the moment. Thanks for your assistance - much appreciated. I think the KDE project is awesome. Any chance you have an sshfs mount? I have seen that freeze Dolphin and possibly the whole plasmashell. Hey @user49b, does this issue still happen with Dolphin 17.12.3? If not, I'd like to close this bug soon. Any updates? It'd be great if we could further investigate this bug, but we need you to test this again with a newer version of Dolphin. Created attachment 112334 [details] attachment-3015-0.html Hi I re-installed os, and have not had the issue again. Will be installing Kubuntu 18.04 later today. Thanks again Chris On Sat, 28 Apr 2018, 11:03 Julian Schraner <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374872 > > --- Comment #7 from Julian Schraner <juliquadrat@gmail.com> --- > Any updates? Thanks for the update; changing status. If you still get this issue with a recent version, please add a comment or reopen this ticket. |
