Blimey - ever searched for something that wasn't there only to get a modal dialogue explaining that it wasn't there? Imagine now that you've got a really big document and you type ahead? or make a spelling mistake Bing! bing! bing! and exactly the same as you delete it - gosh it is really annoying.

I typed Crhistmas tree by mistake - that was 13 or 14 modal alerts and bings to delete back to C.

Since an unfound search key is already already clearly indicated in red perhaps all these modal alerts are superfluous?

I add that the "I've wrapped around do you wish to start again" one is pretty annoying as well - just indicate where you are as a % from the beginning or 15/70 hits.

The KF5 version appears not to have that modal dialog anymore. Can you try that to see if you like it better?

Hello David,

I am with Oliver. Can you reproduce this behavior anymore?
It seems that it is not the case anymore at my system.

Note: I am no maintainer but from the KDE bugsquad
tested on okular 1.3.3

Thanks for triaging this.

I've just tried this and it seems perfectly sane now - unfound seaches just appear in the colour red in the find box and the "bing + modal dialogue" has gone - I'm happy with "resolved" thanks!
