Turns out this is quite complicated. We already have an activity pager-only setting for layout horizontal and vertical. Explicitly having a row count goes against this, as it effectively overrides that first configuration option. I don't know how to present both things in the UI. Created attachment 103320 [details]
Patch in case we figure out how to solve the problem above
Looks like this issue could be set as resolved Sorry - i posted my prev comment in wrong issue I noticed that rows setting in Virtual Desktops settings module also can change number of rows in Activity Pager Maybe 'Virtual Desktops' settings module could be renamed into something like 'Virtual Spaces' or something 'Desktops' tab could be renamed into ''Desktops/Activities', 'Number of rows:' could be renamed and separated into 'Number of virtual desktops rows:' and 'Number of activities rows:' - there is enough horizontal space for such texts. Under 'Desktop Names:' section there could be 'Activities Settings' section - with list of current activities and their settings buttons 'Switching' tab could be renamed into 'Desktop Switching' Yes, I don't think we can do this as it would potentially be much more confusing than the status quo. We will have to come up with another way to solve the general issue of having a Virtual Desktop arrangement that does match the orientation of your panel, which is tracked at Bug 474114. |
