same behavior for 3 different cameras This sounds like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372164 which is resolved in 5.4.0. Can you try the prerelease appimage bundle to find out whether it fixes your problem: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM Kusi, use you a MySQL database, if so, the bug is already fixed. Created attachment 103199 [details] digikam-no-make-and-model Camera model and make are not displayed anymore, see attached picture the command line tool exiv2 for this picture returns Camera make : Panasonic Camera model : DMC-GH4 it looks like digikam parses the wrong tags since commandline exiv2 returns the correct values
