I an going to guess: you've got a computer with an Intel GPU, and if you disable opengl, the problem will go away. Some laptops, especially Lenovo Ideapads that are two years old, have a broken Intel display driver -- and we need to know what systems are affected, exactly, so we can see how big the problem is.
