Thanks for the report! I can reproduce when I have unchecked the "Automatically select file-name extension" checkbox. What desktop are you using? Plasma or something else? I can reproduce the bug using Ubuntu Unity Desktop. I cannot find an "Automatically select file-name extension" checkbox.
