Color to alpha is great, but it would be ncie to also have different filters with different aims.

Color to color or Replace Color ,would be same as alpha but to change a certain color to another one. selecting with "similar color selector wand" and then applying fill is too slow to do it on aevery frame of an animation. Also you loose the ability to use selection to exclude similar colors you dont want replaced. This new function would give more power to the user.

Would also be nice to have it be able to apply to a range of frames.

The most easy and powerfull feature will be to invert color to alpha action - to generate inverted mask (alpha of all colors, but selected). Must be an a filter option to do this.
In this case we can add, for example two filters^ HSL and Color2Alpha, and have full control above colors. Very usefull for Photography retouching and Color correction.
At now, to do this action you need to do the next actions:
1. Create Copy layer of source image (paint layer, or layer group)
2. Add a filter layer with Color2Alpha filter
3. Merge both of them into a group
4. Add filter mask to filter Layer with ColorAdjustment effect to invert alpha channel
5. Add filter mask to filter layer with HSL/HSV effect to change color

Must be (simple and fast):
1. Add Color2Alpha filter mask to Paint layer or Layer group with inverted option
2. Add HSL/HSV filter mask to Paint layer or Layer group to change color
