When I installed Kubuntu 16.04.1 from the LiveCD, I had booted with the nomodeset and acpi=off options because otherwise the desktop environment would crash and put garbled colors on the screen and make all peripheral devices frozen and useless. I figured that this is because of the opensource driver that is default. So when I installed the system, the screen resolution was 680x480 or something like that, and in the settings it refused to let me change the resolution. So seeing that the graphics card of my Compaq is from nvidia, I took the liberty to install nvidia-current and upon reboot, I encountered the problem that was previously mentioned. Any ideas??? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 372400 *** *** Bug 386890 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
