it's it's a bug with new nouveau driver. I suspected that, in prior trouble shooting I did in fact run it down to and replaced the nouveau with the manufactures driver, which caused it's own problems. I no longer have a Gnome that functions and it appears that Wayland has been disabled, neither of these really bother me since I don't like the new Gnome and Wayland is not ready for prime time. But I no longer have a root login at the KDM prompt which is little more than an annoyance. But the aknodai crashes are driving me up a wall since Kmail and Akregator are my preferred email and RSS clients. |
