I don't think we have the karma to accept this here: This should be discussed with the visual design group (VDG). Forum: https://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=285&sid=8d224b26596e315f410d3cd29b87abf8 Mailing List: https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/visual-design Could you take this topic there? Agreed, this is best done as a long-form discussion involving VDG, not a bug report. If and when there's some agreement about a different icon, then that should be opened as a new bug report. There's also the VDG Telegram channel: https://t.me/vdgmainroom |
Created attachment 102294 [details] trial jpg for potential icon The current icon that appears on the Windows taskbar is a little insipid, looking just like a beige box. It is difficult to identify and differentiate. It is also beige and has no intrinsic interest, it looks dull. My suggestion is to place a small red 'K' onto the beige page. It would make Kate's location on the Windows taskbar much more easy to find. When using the taskbar to navigate running applications I have been struggling to find the Kate Editor. In comparison to my previous editor, Context that I can find immediately due to having a similar icon to the one I have suggested for Kate.
