Using the pre-installed (fusion, oxygen, QRCurve) styles causes the titlebars to use default decoration colors even if the theme colors have been changed. Trying to force color setting via more actions > special window/application settings also fails as per this link;

Only Breeze deco/style adheres to colors set and/or force as per the link.

I just did the following:

1. switch to Oxygen style
2. open kwrite
3. create window specific rule to force decoration color to honeycomb

Result: decoration turned yellow as expected.

Are your steps the same or are you looking for something different?

This issue report is quite old. Can you please confirm, that it still persists with KDE 5.23?
