Can reproduce on Arch Linux with krunner 5.28. Happens with qt5 (kate), qt4 (okular), gtk2 (libreoffice) and gtk3 (pulseaudio volume control) applications. However, firefox works, as revan mentioned. Small mistake in my comment #1. The krunner version is 5.8.4. Same on KDE Neon plasmashell 5.12.7. None of the apps I use get focus. No LSB modules are available. My comment #1 on reproducibility was with a single display. However, I am no longer able to reproduce the bug with krunner version 5.16.4. I think the multimonitor issues might be a different bug. The Good: Running Kubuntu 19.04 with a single desktop panel and 3 monitors, this is not an issue most of the time. Some times some apps, such as Terminator and Intellij do not get focus, or will lose it immediately. Still, most of the time it works as expected. On a side note, the browser plugin Plasma Integration makes KRunner's Browser feature work really well. I'm using it with Vivaldi and Chrome, and loving it. As soon as I add an empty panel with a TaskManger widget to another monitor, KRunner can not focus the apps.
