Description Theresa 2016-11-08 18:47:47 UTC
Whenever I boot with my external monitors plugged into my laptop (no docking station in between) I get a black screen. No login-manager, just a black screen.

Workaround:
Unplug the cables of the monitors in my laptop and boot just the laptop. I automatically see the login manager and can log into my system. As soon as I'm logged in, I can plug the cables in again.

What I also noticed since a few days I can no longer see files on my desktop (folders view) instead I see only the "Desktop" view...

I'm happy to provide any logs or configs that would help resolve the problem.

thank you very much in advance!
cheers

I'm not sure which login manager you're using, but the problem seems to lie there. KScreen, and in fact all of Plasma-related code to this only comes after you're actually logged in.

I'm closing this bug, as there's nothing we can do about it. I would suggest you contact the developers working on the login manager to have a look.

Sorry I'm not more useful to you, here...

The other problem, try switching back the layout of your desktop to "Folder View", can be done in the same dialog as the wallpaper. If it doesn't persist after that, please file a bug against plasmashell.
