Description Don Curtis 2016-11-07 11:24:44 UTC
Restrict the KDE Plasma 5 user's options for Session Logout to "only logout" -- no system shutdown or restart.
"Confirm Session Logout" is checked.

The Plasma logout "greeter" then offers all possible options -- "Logout"; "System Shutdown"; "System Restart".
And, the options to shutdown/poweroff or restart unexpectedly function -- not really wanted if a user should only be offered "logout".

To clarify, this is about the "Offer shutdown options" setting in Systemsettings->Startup and Shutdown->Session Management, which is ignored by the logout screen since 5.8 (AFAICT).

IOW, the logout screen always shows "Restart", "Shutdown" and "Suspend" buttons, even if this setting is disabled.
It should only show "Logout" in this case, and hide the others.

confirmed (fedora using plasma-5.8.3)
Comment 4 David Edmundson 2016-11-14 14:20:16 UTC
This is the design. We need to offer a confirmation screen anyway, so the extra options are just in space that would otherwise be blank anyway.

I'll tag the VDG team anyway so they're aware of the feedback.
