Do you maybe accidentally hit the global keyboard shortcut for keyboard layout switches (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+k or similar, don't know exactly) ? In any case, please upgrade to a newer version of KDE Plasma and Kate. You can also use a current version of Kate through the AppImage (make it executable and start it), see https://kate-editor.org/get-it/ *** Bug 372069 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Hi,

Short answer: No.
Long answer:
My text entry settings only show a GB keyboard layout.
Even in the highly unlikely event that I accidentally
hit a multi-key shortcut, I'd not be switching layouts.
As said, I'm not even sure where the US layout I'm being
presented with, is coming from.
I have upgraded my whole system last weekend, and am now
on Kate 15.12.3 - if the issue persists I'll update
within a month.
Best,
Marc
Sorry, can not reproduce. If you have some way to do so with a current release, please report how we can do so. Thanks! |
Created attachment 102028 [details] Screenshot showing only 1 keyboard layout installed The only keyboard layout installed on my system is gb (English-UK) yet Kate keeps occasionally swapping the layout to US English. I'm not even sure how it knows to swap the @ and " keys, but it's very annoying. This on an Ubuntu 14.04 system on the stock Unity desktop.
