Hello,

It's been quite a long time I can't use parley's editor. I have switched to anki but I would still like to use parley sometimes. I can practice but every time I go to "editing" it freezes then crash. It first happened when I updated Parley.

I'm a newbie so I don't know how to report a bug, this is what appears when I launch parley from a terminal :

Kross: "PythonScript::Constructor."
Kross: "PythonScript::execute"
Kross: "PythonScript::execute result=None"
Kross: "PythonScript::execute connect object= signal=translateWord(QString,QString,QString) with pythonfunction=translateWord"
Activating Script "/usr/share/parley/plugins/google_images.py"
"Parley"
Kross: "PythonScript::Constructor."
Kross: "PythonScript::execute"
Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)

Hey Samuel,

Could you please provide the content of the version tab in parleys about dialog.

Unfortunately the KDE Applications version ist not shown there, but this is very usefull too. You can check it if you get the version of one of KDE native applictions. Type in terminal:
kate --version
   or
dolphin --version
   or
konsole --version

this is the version I use :


Version 2.1.0

Using:

  *   KDE Frameworks 5.18.0
  *   Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1)
  *   The xcb windowing system

I have ubuntu 16.04 no kate nor dolphin nor konsole installed on it.

Hi Samuel,

If I googled right, ubuntu 16.04 comes with KDE Applications 15.12. Parley is with this version very unstable. I recomend to update at least to KDE Applications 16.04.3 where parley is much more stable. Ubuntu 16.10 provides this apps version.

The other option is to compile parley yourself from the latest sources. I don't know if you familliar with compiling KDE application. If not, it would be very complex, because you have to install a lot of additional software.
