My Muon updater declares that there is a new version KUBUNTU 16.06 even if I am using UBUNTU 14.04 LTS. I do not want to update to KUBUNTU but to UBUNTU so I am not sure if this announcement is correct.

Muon is no longer maintained, please switch no a supported alternative like https://apps.kde.org/discover/ or the package manager native no your system.
