Try unstalling breeze and oxygen icons try following this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpZyrisiG9s I didn't have any problem when I was running other versions of KDEnlive. So, I'm not sure why I would need to change that variable. Also, when I go under Settings > Theme I am not seeing any theme choices. When I click the Configure button I get the following error message in a dialog box. Cannot start Colors Settings panel from KDE Control Center. Please check your system So, perhaps there is something that has not been installed? I am running Ubuntu 16.04 and as mentioned in the OP I installed the latest stable of KDEnlive through the ppa. I am running > Ubuntu 16.04 and as mentioned in the OP I installed the latest stable of > KDEnlive through the ppa. Try doing the suggestions to see if those help... I have installed breeze. I still don't see the icons. I do see other theme options, but it doesn't matter which one I pick; the icons still don't show. Even if I select to force breeze icons they don't show. Delete (or at least rename) your $HOME/.local/share/kxmlgui5/kdenlive/kdenliveui.rc If that doesn't work do a clean install... this is not a Kdenlive issue... I am closing this in the tracker. Please ask for help in the forum, I am sure many ubuntu users can give you a hand there. Cheers |
Created attachment 101859 [details] Screenshot of user interface I used the KDEnlive ppa to install this version. Various icons and buttons in the interface just show a square with an outline and it's not possible to tell what they do until I hover my mouse over them and read the tooltip.
