When I boot to Plasma 5.8.2 with external monitor there is no system tray. Buttons increase/decrease, mute sound don't work. I ps grepped plasmashell and found that:

matt      4873  8.0  0.8 3084488 107544 ?      Sl   09:02   0:01 plasmashell --shut-up
matt      5317  0.0  0.0  10864  2176 pts/1    S+   09:02   0:00 grep --color=auto plasmashell


The solution is to killall plasmashell and then kstart5 plasmashell, after that everything works fine.

After that when ps grep plasmashell:
matt      5344 22.8  1.2 3631636 154152 ?      Sl   09:02   0:03 /usr/bin/plasmashell
matt      5369  0.0  0.0  10864  2204 pts/2    R+   09:03   0:00 grep --color=auto plasmashell


Why doesn't plasmashell start properly with second monitor connected?

Doesn't seem to occur in Plasma 5.8.3.

Is this bug still happening on newer Plasma versions?
