dirk, we need more information to be able to find the problem. Things you usually give when reporting a bug:

* What does not start? How did you notice?
* Did you observe some unusual behaviour other than your application not starting? Maybe some error messages? A crash handler that popped up? Those usually give useful information for developers in the form of stack traces.
* What version of the relevant components do you have? In this case we probably need the KMail version.
* What did you do when the problem occured?
* Does the problem occur every time? Was it only once? Or does it happens sometimes, but not always?
