Description Tony 2016-10-21 06:30:14 UTC
Today i did i full update on my main system and added a ppa to get a newer nouveau driver
(newer mesa is also included there) for my gtx 760.
https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers/?field.series_filter=xenial

All fine on X. Switch to a wayland session to check out if the "new stuff" makes things more stable for me.

As soon as i opened firefox some artifacts showed on the firefox window and the desktop hanged could not even switch vts.
Rebooted, tried again, the same.
On X i turned off "hardware acceleration" for firefox to see if that may be related, nope still hangs on wayland.

I get no crash the desktop just goes black and hangs. Sorry i can't (don't know) how to get you a backtrace with this one.

Firefox is working fine for me (just typing in it). This might be a nouveau problem.

What we need is a way to gdb into kwin. In case you have a second system, please try to ssh into the system, attach gdb and get a backtrace.
