plugin for resizing and renaming selected files is missing (for Gwenview (16.08.1) KDE framework 5 (5.26.0))

This plugin have been dropped as is not maintained since a long time.

what is the state of the art way to resize and rename pictures as efficiently as with the kipi plugin ?

None. We have a batch processing tool into digiKam core, more powerfull due to use versioning, and other DK only features, not shared with KIPI.
