Shape brush engine won't work for small distances when stabilizer smoothing is enabled.
A shape will appear after moving the brush further.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a Shape brush
2. In Tool Options for smoothing select Stabilizer
3. Draw something with it

Actual Results:
Shape appears only after moving brush for larger distance.

Expected Results:
Shape should appear instantly.

Hi,

Well, that is sort of to be expected: the stabilizer needs larger distances to calculate the smooth trajectory between two points, so the shape brush only gets its second point after a certain distance. I don't really think that this is a bug, it's just the way things work...

So it's not a bug at all? There's no possible workaround for it?

Yes, not using the stablizer when using that brush. The shape brush has smoothing of itself though in the settings. Anyway, I am going to close this bug.
