Description Don Curtis 2016-10-07 07:44:25 UTC
KDE4 Plasma Version 4.14.9 - System Administration Version 4.11.20 - openSUSE 13.2

When a system-wide User Icon for the KDM Login Screen is set-up, the icon file is written to /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/ with the file name "faces<user-name>.face.icon".

I am using non-KDE icon files for the system-wide user's login icon.

Renaming the file to "<user-name>.face.icon" and moving it to the directory /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/faces/ is the current work-around that I'm using.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open "System Settings".
2. Choose "System Administration".
3. Choose "Login Screen".
4. With "User's Pictures" choose an icon file (non-KDE) for the user's login system-wide icon.

Actual Results:
The individual user's login icon file is placed in the directory /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/ with the file name "faces<user-name>.face.icon".

Expected Results:
The individual user's login icon file should be placed in the directory /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/faces/ with the file name "<user-name>.face.icon".

Normal up-to-date openSUSE 13.2 system with KDE4 Plasma.

The kdm login manager is no longer maintained by KDE developers. In Plasma 5, we recommend to use the SDDM login manager.
