(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kde
Version: unknown (using KDE 2.2.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux (i586) release 2.4.2
OS/Compiler notes:

Many businesses I work with would benefit greatly from integrated login with KDE and NetWare/Samba networks and mounting drives automatically. Since most users don't have rights to mount and umount it is difficult to use KDE on the desktop of non-technical users without writing scripts for each.

I really love the idea of KDE connecting to network resources so transparently but that only helps KDE applications. The ability to right-click and actually MOUNT a share would be a great benefit. The previous request would simply piggy-back on-top of this one.

Great work all of you. I still am very impressed with your work!

Network home directories generally kinda sorta work. If there are specific bugs preventing them from working, those specific bugs should be filed so they can be fixed. :)
