Please try with the actual Kdenlive version 18.08.1

I tried this on my Kdenlive (fresh build, refactoring_branch) and it looks like the bug has been handled, screenshot attached.

@Akhil had the chance to test Kdenlive Version 18.12.3 on Fedora 30 Xfce and it's not fixed there. 

See attached screenshot.

This should be fixed in 19.04 version.
Dev cannot backport to 18.12 and older versions anymore as 60% of the code has changed.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.04.1c to make sure you have no packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/
