since some recent frameworks version mono icons can be colored depending on the system theme. the presence applet does not follow this new tech and looks grotesquely out of place

Dear user, unfortunately Telepathy is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
