The KDE is using application preference order: http://imgur.com/RfGGrOA My opinion is that this is a good way to put the applications to the order. This has been wroted at the freedesktop mailing list: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2008-January/009149.html Now: Desktop Entry Specification - https://specifications.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ -> https://specifications.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/apb.html You can change the order with the file type settings. You can even remove entries there, if you only ever need a few applications to open a file type directly in. As people have mentioned, this is as designed--for good reason. The ordering shows you the system's preference for which one to choose, and allows you to manipulate that order yourself to change which program opens the file. |
