- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I right clicked on a videofile. It crashed even when I hit the options button on the keyboard to open the menu (when file is selected and that button is hit on the keyboard).

It tries to load a Qt4 based plugin in a Qt5 application. Either update that plugin, or uninstall it. *** Bug 369849 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** It also crashes on the Desktop now so I can't right click -> delete files from the desktop anymore (because selecting a file and pressing (Shift-)Del doesn't work anymore on the desktop in current KDE releases). Because of a bug in the crash reporter I could not use that to upload the crash information here. I'll upload an attachment manually here. Created attachment 101427 [details]
Crash of plasma desktop from right clicking on a file on the desktop.
Any ideas what plugin is causing this? I can't remember installing any plugins. It just started to behave like this today. I think there was a fedora update yesterday or so. What plugins are there, where can I deactivate them and find out which one is causing this? I installed glibc debuginfos and run dolphin through gdb. I got this: #6 0x00007ffff7def6a3 in _dl_open (file=0x555555dff988 "/usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/kdeconnectfileitemaction.so", mode=-2147483647, caller_dlopen=0x7ffff141e610 <QLibraryPrivate::load_sys()+1680>, nsid=-2, argc=<optimized out>, argv=<optimized out>, env=0x7fffffffd508) at dl-open.c:649 649 int errcode = _dl_catch_error (&objname, &errstring, &malloced, Yes, kdeconnect is broken in other ways too (see: http://i.imgur.com/liRMpsv.png ). I try to uninstall that. I don't use it anyway. I guess it's Fedora's fault? Yes, right click works again! Uninstalling kdeconnect worked for me also. Thanks for posting the solution. This was a bug in fedora packaging: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1374869 There is a update in testing repo to fix it: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/kde-connect-1.0.1-1.fc23.1 OK, downstream bug (closing) The cause was an unfortunate circumstance of last kde4 connect (kdeconnect-0.8) and latest release (kdeconnect-1.0.x) using the same library soname: libkdeconnectinterfaces.so.1 *** Bug 370161 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 370186 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 366491 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
