When you select a file, you have to enable the information panel or open its properties to see when it was created, and only the properties window shows the last modification date (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367680).

It'd be nice if Dolphin was able to display those pieces of info on the status bar. Windows XP, for example, shows the "creation date" for files such as .exe and .dll files, and the "modifcation date" for files such as text files and Word documents. That's useful for people who edit many text documents with similar names.

Reproducible: Always

This information belongs in the Information panel, not the status bar. You can already manually add those pieces of information to the Information panel, and I am working on getting them to show up by default in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381470
