Description andreas 2016-08-12 04:50:41 UTC
klipper is an awesome utility and activated by default as applet.

The applet is nice to see the history but the real power of klipper was shown when you define a shortcut for open clipboard at mouse point, cause than you can scroll at your history and select a new clipboard entry for ctrl + v.

as the shortcuts are now ctrl + alt + ... and glipper use ctrl + alt + c I would suggest du use also ctrl + alt + c

Reproducible: Always

please read https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kde-workspace/klipper/shortcuts-page.html
and add Ctrl+Alt+C for "Open Clipboard at Mouse Position"
Does that solve your issue?
Comment 2 andreas 2016-08-12 05:52:08 UTC
so does Ctrl+Alt+C will be added to the default shortcuts?

There was a misunderstanding: Andreas meant that there should be a default shortcut set for the action because it's a quite useful one.

I don't think we need a default global shortcut for that. No user would know about it and it could easily conflict with in application shortcuts.

The "no user would know about it" problem could be fixed by the shortcut overlay we're planning. As for what the shortcut should be: We need to re-think our shortcuts anyway, as there is currently no apparent system behind them.

If we go more for Meta as modifier for global shortcuts, they would not conflict with application shortcuts.
