Please add some indication of VPN connection in system tray.
For instance there might be a key symbol similar to that which is on Android devices.
When VPN is connected user should see it near or on the network icon in the system tray at the first sight.

There is an indication for vpn connections, there is a small lockpad in the right lower corner. What is your version of plasma-nm?
