Thanks for the report. As this feature works perfectly for me, there must be some missing information. Is the file on a remote server? Are you using Plasma? Are you using Dolphin? Or something else that could effect the situation? Yes I use PCManFM 1.2.4 file manager on lubuntu 16.04 (4.4.0-31-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 13 00:07:12 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux). But on previous lubuntu version 15.10 problem was missing. I will add for you video as attachment Created attachment 100391 [details]

I show as I open file using kate than using leafpad
Could it be that PACManFM does not provide the path properly? I installed PCmanFM in kubuntu 16.04 and it worked as expected... strange.... Are you able to determine the command used to by PCmanFM to launch kate? "Could it be that PACManFM does not provide the path properly?" But for leafpad it provides the path properly! How can I determine the command used to launch kate? $ ps -ax | grep kate 2152 ? Sl 0:01 kate -b file:///home/destructor/Dropbox/English.txt Thanks! That helped :) The root of the problem is a bug that has been fixed at the Randa meeting earlier this summer. The fix will be in 16.08. (I'm using master, that is why I couldn't reproduce) If you can get PCmanFM to remove the "file://" prefix of the file name, kate should work properly. Maybe you will recommend to use something for webpages edit instead kate? |
