The main toolbar with options File, Edit, Project, etc, is doubled – one in the Ubuntu upper bar and one just under it. Correctly, only the OS one (upper one) should be displayed. It's not a big problem, but it takes space and looks strange.

I can confirm this. Can someone with permission change the status?

Note that you have to use the default desktop environment (Unity) with global menus enabled (which is default) to reproduce this.

This appears to be an upstream bug with Qt, see the aforementioned bug report with its associated links. This affects several applications, Kdenlive being only one of several. As this is an upstream issue affecting multiple applications, I'm closing this bug here so we can focus on bugs within realm and reach of Kdenlive. Thank you very much for your cooperation!
