plasmashell debug info
Could you test this against git master (either via Neon dev/unstable or openSUSE tumbleweed with latest git master builds)? We've fixed an issue that could lead to this behavior last week. If the problem persists, please clean out ~/.local/share/kscreen/kscreen.log, reproduce this issue, and attach the log to this bugreport. Thanks for your help sorting this out! I will test it with the krypton live image the next days. I tried to upgrade my KDE install to the latest unstable but that would brake a lot of stuff in my current install. I'm already on factory for KDE but the step to unstable seems a bit more complicated. I could not reproduce it the same way with the live image like in my normal setup. Could be fixed but I'm not sure. In what plasmashell version this fix will be in? On a current Tumbleweed the problem is not gone but it gets better: The crash is gone. The on some occasions unexpected behavior is not fully fixed. Docking/undocking and starting with different screen configurations still sometimes results in black screens or not right positioned or overlapped panels. plasma 5.8.3 frameworks 5.28.0 Qt 5.7.0 I had similar problems with monitor handling, and at last i upgraded to 5.8.3 (as described above) and now it got completely unusable: the "Display and Monitor" settings button simply closes the configuration window. Some years ago i was happy with KDE but in the recent years it got more and more unstable. Unfortunately i also need to switch to another window manager. :-( Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
