Description Dishant 2016-07-13 09:39:11 UTC
Actually, I have found that, in the latest installation of KILE in Ubuntu 16.04, (I have installed through Ubuntu Software Center...), all the shortcuts specified in main menu are disappeared... and I have been trying to get the previous menu where they were appeared correctly... but somehow, I couldn't obtain it...

Kindly help me in this regard...

I bag your help severely..!

For your perusal, I am attaching one screenshot.... where, for example you can see that, to convert my text into comment, I can't find the shortcut viz., Ctrl+D... likewise... all shortcuts have gone...

Reproducible: Always

Which Qt widget style are you using? If unsure, please ask in a forum of your distribution.

To get the default Qt widget style, which should also display keyboard shortcuts, please run "kile -style Fusion" from Konsole.

When I ran "kile -style Fusion" from Konsole, I get the following... message in it ... and the Kile gets opened .. but with as usual appearance.

Oh, I was assuming that you already used the Qt5-based version. For the Qt4-based version, please try "kile -style Plastique", the Fusion style is only available with Qt5.

Upon invoking, "kile -style Plastique" - I am gettting the same view as before, I am unable to see the shortcuts as usual....! : (

Ok, I think I see what is going on. The Unity desktop hijacks the application's menu bar and replaces it with some "global appmenu". I have no idea which packages need to be installed (or uninstalled) to fix this broken appmenu.

I suggest to ask in a forum of your distribution, how to fix the global appmenu for Qt4 applications.
