We are looking at using KGeography in some primary schools in Nicaragua. The local language is Spanish.

When doing the quiz about Nicaragua, it uses terminology which is not seen as correct here. Specifically instead of the word "capital" (in terms of capital city of a department) it should use the terminology "cabecera departamental".

This looks like a translation/locale related isssue, so reassigning to the spanish translation team.

But it is easy to change this translation to your needs:

1) install a package usually named "gettext"
2) find kgeography.mo using "locate kgeography.mo"
the file should be located in a path like /usr/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/kgeography.mo
3) msgunfmt /path/to/kgeography.mo > kgeography.po
4) change the translation of capital in kgeography.po with a texteditor
5) msgfmt kgeography.po -o /path/to/kgeography.mo (as root)

The terminology used in KGeography quiz is generic for all countries and languages. Thus, "capital" is used as a common term, without local variations. I don't know if the authors of KGeography can "correct" this problem that seems to affect only Nicaragua.

We can have custom strings for the "what is the capital of" and "%1 is the capital of", bihar and world continents have them.

The trouble here is finding an english word for "cabecera departamental" that then would univocally translate to "cabecera departamental", because (sorry I use Honduras as example, it's "nicer" than the Nicaragua Wikipedia page) in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Departments_of_Honduras you see "Department Capital" which in https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizaci%C3%B3n_territorial_de_Honduras is correctly translated as "Cabecera" but since the "What is the Department Capital of %1" string would not be Nicaragua specific my guess as a Spain-Spanish speaker is that it would be translated to the more neutral "¿Cuál es la Capital del departamento de %1?" 

So it's all a bit of a mess, do kids don't really understand the word "Capital" in Nicagarua as a generic term?
