Sentry Crash Report:

Description Steve Phelps 2016-06-23 08:34:01 UTC
When configuring desktop widgets, one can normally drag application icons from Kicker onto the desktop. When navigating the applications menu, this works as expected. However, if the user searches for an application using Kickoff, and then attempts to drag the same application icon onto the desktop, this does not work. This used to work in KDE 4.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unlock desktop widgets
2. Search for an application, e.g. Dolphin, in the Kickoff launcher
3. Drag the Dolphin icon onto the desktop

Actual Results:
The Dolphin icon cannot be dragged

Expected Results:
The application icon should be draggable, regardless of whether it appears as a result of navigating through the application menus, or whether it appears because it has been searched.

Works for me in Plasma 5.6.
