This may be a variation of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335079 If I cycle through the fonts there were at least 1 or 2 where the underlining showed up. But note my sample does not involve any non-ASCII characters, and the underlining doesn't show up for several mono-spaced fonts as well. I have the same problem with the same version of Kate but on Kubuntu xenial xerus. For some font the underline appears, but for some font it appears only for certain size. For example it appears with Oxygen Mono if the size font is strictly inferior to 13 : https://framapic.org/E3o4RcGqIEW8/VH4eyUbg22ZG.png I have a problem like this - I think it is a size issue. If I have an incorrectly spelt word that is underlined in red, if I use ctrl + to increase font size there comes a point when the red underline disappears. It returns if you decrease font size with ctrl - edA-qa: do you confirm the font size effect? @buovjaga: This is most likely the font rendering issue I linked, but it might not be exactly the same. Let's set to confirmed due to the other commenters. Sorry for bumping but the bug is also present in kwrite Hmm, this works for me again since some releases. There were issues with some font sizes in the past. (and it still might be problemantic if you do HiDPI scaling with x.y factors, but that is an other bug) |
