Kdenlive 16.04.01  KDE framework 15.0
Under "effects"   "alpha manipulator"  blue screen is not in the list of options.  I cannot make a color selection for Chroma Key or sample color with eye dropper.  Therefore, the background clip does not replace the green screen.

Right-click on a clip in the timeline. 
Select "Add Effects", go to "Alpha Manipulation", and drop down to "Chroma Key"
