A project made in version 15.12.3 crashes on open on version 16.04. Trying to include video in a new project crashes program as well.
Ubuntu 16.04, nvidia

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open project
2. after few seconds program terminated abnormally before to load timeline, etc.

Where did you get your Kdenlive packages ? 
Can you check the Kdenlive version in Help > About Kdenlive > Version

For Ubuntu users, we recommand to use packages from our PPA, check:
https://kdenlive.org/download-ubuntu

In addition to mention that old version 15.12.3 works well on Kubuntu 16.04

Ok, I may have found the problem. I just pushed a change to our kdenlive-testing PPA. 
An update should be available in the next hours, please test and let me know if it fixes the problem.
