I recently noticed some mails in the root-folder of an IMAP account - see screenshot.
Dont ask me how they get there, but even worse, I cant remove them!
- root folder shows number of unread mails, but details screen does not
- mails cant be deleted
Any help is appreciated.....

Only 6 years after the issue was reported....in between several new installations, the original installation is not available any longer.
