Description Jens 2016-05-13 09:45:18 UTC
Hello,

I have Okular 0.19.3 under KDE 4.13.3 installed (Kubuntu 14.04 LTS).

The zoom factors do not seem to be accurate. If I want to have a real 100% zoom to show my documents, I will have to set the zoom factor to around 128%. I can't say if this is the exact real 100% setting, but I compared this display to other program's 100% zoom displays and to real document papers.
So it is quite uncomfortable having to enter "128+[ENTER]" each time if I want to watch a document in original size.

I hope you can help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open a document with Okular set the zoom factor to 100% and compare it with other program's 100% zoom (e.g. Libre Office's Writer).

Actual Results:
Okular's displayed document is far smaller (than others).

Expected Results:
Okular should display documents in 100% zoom view at its real size.

Does your X server report the correct size for your display? Please use "xrandr" command in Konsole, and check the "Wmm x Hmm" output.

Yes sure. In addition I have 2 monitors – both with correct metrics and both with the described effect in Okular.
Anyway, other programs do show documents at 100% zoom factor with real 100% size (e.g. LibreOffice, PDFsam, PDFmod). So I think it can't be anything else but Okular or any module just used by Okular.

Any idea?

Just complain to get Kubuntu packagers that they stopped linking libkscreen to Okular and this feature broke.

Sorry if my English skills are not that good but what do you mean?
Do you want me to complain or did you say that I am complaining?
Besides I'm quite new to Linux and I'm really not up in all these "lib…" things so I don't know what this story is about "libkscreen" or broken features or who these Kubuntu packagers are.

Maybe I will know all these insider things in a year or two (when I understood how Ubuntu is working) but for now I prefer just to know, what I can do or if there is an update (compatible with Kubuntu 14.04) or who can help. Even something like "will be fixed next year" would be a speck of light at the end of the tunnel.
Of course background information is always very welcome.

Thank you.

The bug is in kubuntu, not in Okular.

If you want to know if there is any update in kubuntu that can fix this problem, ask in a kubuntu support channel http://kubuntu.org/support/
