I tested the latest version of Dolphin from git repository and it is working again, at the time of this writing. So I supposed it has been fixed? Currently, I also can't recreate it, looks like it's fixed now. Can you confirm it's still working correctly for you? It still happen on Fedora with the official package (fully up to date at this time). It doesn't happen on Ubuntu. Is it compiled differently on Fedora? I'm sure there is some difference (as a general thing in various distributions) What version of Fedora, Plasma and Dolphin are you currently using? Does it still work fine in other file managers? And happens with various drives (internal/usb)? Can you test it with a new user (to check default settings of KDE/dolphin)? My Fedora is fully updated, version 27. It work fine in other file managers, save Konqueror which I assume is using the same thing. It happens on any drives (internal, usb, ssd or not). I did try on a freshly created user. I tested it on multiple machines. One more question - multiple machines, all with fedora 27? You think that maybe you could find some time in a near future to use Neon LiveCD/LiveUSB and check how it looks in a different distro? There needs to be something specific in your case, as I'm using Kubuntu 17.10 and openSUSE 42.3 on my laptop and everything seems to be fine for my internal ssd (2 ntfs partitions), one external hdd (also 2 NTFS partitions) and I also formatted my pendrive as NTFS in Windows 10 - it's all fine when I access it from doplphin Kubuntu/openSuse. Is there anything specific that you think could be in your situation? Yes, all on Fedora 27. I already tested with Ubuntu (again, latest version at this writing) and it's working. I suspect it's something specific to Fedora and it's been present for almost 2 years. I'll try openSUSE livedvd. https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1016802 This contains the build log for dolphin on Fedora 27. Maybe there is something in the way it's compiled. Thanks for confirming that. If it's working on Ubuntu for you, then it's not a KDE issue in general, but something done by Fedora, making this a DOWNSTREAM problem. All I can recommend for you is to raise it in fedora bugs, including a comment that it's working correctly in a different distro. |
