Open systemsettings5/multimedia/ and on of the tabs 
- ouptut devices
- configuration
- or any similar one having a drop-down box

Click on the dorp-down, the choice list opens on a different position as expected (see screenshot)

still there in 5.6.4,
using intel and nvidia graphics

Probably a Qt issue. Works with Qt 5.8 on Plasma 5.9.
