Sentry Crash Report:

Description Billy W 2016-04-27 12:27:48 UTC
The scratch pad that is located in the brush engine window to the right now crashes every time I attempt to draw and test out a brush or when I try to make an Icon. This is repeatable. Not sure what the cause of it is.. was using the April 25 build and it started happening this has carried on over to the beta that was released today. Also noticed that erase mode was lagging pretty heavily on a larger project. The erase layer blending mode was acting similarly.

The computer isn't showing any signs that the lag is due to resources.

Im using windows 10
Intel I7 4790 cpu
16 gigs of ram
Geforce gtx 970 superclocked gaming card.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open brush engine
2. Select brush
3. Try drawing on the sketchpad.

Actual Results:
Causes Krita to crash and shut down.

Expected Results:
Not crash. And allowed testing of brushes.

Do you use a drawing tablet? And do I understand correctly that this happens for you with the builds made with the new compiler? I.e., the alpha and pre-alpha builds were okay for you?

Yes..im currently using an intuos pro... A while back when you first where trying out the new compiler that build had no issues.. The pre alphas didn't have any issues with this. So they were working fine.

Ok, seems like a regression after using new compiler in Beta

I am on the beta build that boud release on May 5 (krita-3.0-Beta-master-962bfe1-x64)

I am on Windows 10 and an Intuos3. Painting on the scratchpad does not give me any crashes.

Does the latest build still do this?
Comment 5 phaineofcatz 2016-05-12 01:12:42 UTC
It crashes for me.

Windows 10
Waccom intuos 4 or mouse
Krita 3.0 beta (git 962bfe1)

As a note, I have had this problem on the prealpha and the first beta release. I haven't gone back and installed 2.9 to see if I have the issue there.
Comment 6 Raghavendra kamath 2016-05-13 11:57:16 UTC
It doesn't crash for me on windows 10 with the latest build -> http://files.kde.org/krita/3/windows/devbuilds/krita-3.0-Beta-master-d330a4a-x64.zip

I have nvidia 750 ti
i tested with both wacom and mouse

Agree with kamath, d330a4a has this fixed for me.
Comment 8 wolthera 2016-05-16 09:58:37 UTC
What might be going on is that the crash is caused by something in the kritarc, as that previously was known to cause crashes with the scratchpad.
Comment 9 Halla Rempt 2016-05-18 21:31:07 UTC
I very much doubt the compiler has anything to do with this bug. Especially if the pre-alpha also crashed; so Wolthera must be right, and it must be an issue with the settings. Please check %APPDATA%\Local\ and attach the kritarc file if you can reproduce the crash. Then rename it to kritarc. bak and try again.

I suspect a local issue here.
