Sentry Crash Report:

Description Martin Thomas 2016-04-24 18:58:46 UTC
I have Kubuntu 16.04
I have gwenview 15.12.3  and  kipi-plugins version 4:4.12.0-0ubuntu7
None of the plugins work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Launch gwenview and click on the Plugins menu

Actual Results:
There are 4 entries, none of which work.

The 'Images' entry displays a popup giving the filename of the current image and an 'OK' button which just closes the popup.

The 'Tools' entry displays a a popup giving the directory name and filename of the current image and 'OK' and 'cancell' buttons. Whichever one I choose, it displays the same popup that the 'Images' entry does.

The 'Import' entry displays a popup saying:
Plugin_KXMLHelloWorld::slotActivateActionImport()

The 'Export' entry displays a popup saying:
activatedPlugin_KXMLHelloWorld::slotActivateActionExport() activated

Expected Results:
The menu should have a lot more options, all of which do useful things.

I confirm this problem. The only option that appears in all plugins submenus is "KXML Hello World...", even though last kipi-plugins package from Ubuntu universe repositories is installed.

Can confirm this in Linux Mint 18 (which is based on ubuntu 16.04)

Seems to be resolved with later versions. I can install and use Kipi plugins in Gwenview with Kubuntu 17.04 and 17.10, and in KDE Neon.
