Description Kubuntiac 2016-04-16 22:00:53 UTC
This issue is to request porting the KF4 KCM to KF5 so users can have drives automounted again from inside Plasma 5.

I've filed it here due to reading Alex Fiesta's commit comment:
"Remove solid-device-automounter
This should be ported to systemd so any automount happens within
systemd user session startup and we do not depend on kded being started."
http://commit-digest.org/issues/2014-04-27/moreinfo/11a44a07c2417f533424aa27b6933bdd71a7b743/

There are a number of posts around the internet with people who used this feature in KF4 trying to figure out how to do it in KF5, whih are generally met with long and technical ways to get this functionality back (generally by running the old KF4 KCM which is hackish and undesirable).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go into System Settings in Plasma 5

Actual Results:
Automount volumes KCM does not exist

Expected Results:
Automount volumes KCM exists as it did in Plasma 4

It seems to me this can be closed.
We have a kcm device_automounter_kcm since https://cgit.kde.org/plasma-desktop.git/commit/?id=e8a571f09557e9cb597b466c1f61bdb4b68a6913
